Frequently asked questions
What is yoga nidra* guided relaxation?
An Hour’s Peace classes use yoga nidra, a form of guided relaxation, also known as dynamic sleep.
It’s done lying down, motionless. All you have to do is get comfy and open your ears!
Yoga nidra works by slowing down your brain waves. This allows your brain to settle and rest intensely, so you feel deeply calm and refreshed.
Thirty minutes of yoga nidra is said to be as restorative as three hours of sleep.
Do I have to talk or appear on camera?
No. Live online classes are on Zoom Webinar (not Zoom Meeting). So you won’t be seen or heard.
Do I need any equipment?
You’ll need something soft to lie on (like a yoga mat or folded blanket); four pillows; a blanket; and something to cover your eyes.
Are the classes suitable for everyone?
The classes aren’t suitable if you:
have severe depression, severe trauma or severe mental health condition(s);
experience seizures; or
are pregnant.
If you have another health condition or injury, please consult your doctor before booking a class.
All classes involve lying and sitting on the floor.
